Place & Time: Contest will be held on December 5th, 2009 at 4 pm in the
"Tamarac Community Center",
8601 W. Commercial Boulevard,
Florida

Eligibility: Contest is open to children of South Florida studying in Elementary(KG to 5th grade) or Middle School (6th to 8th grade) or High School (9th to 12th grade).

Registration deadline:Contestants are required to register before the deadline at 9pm on Thursday November 27th, 2009 by submitting a registration form one per group with the registration fee for all contestants in the group together.

Registration Fee: Registration fee of $10 per contestant. Cash or cheque is accepted. No seperate entrance fee.

Cheque: Cheque payable to "South Florida Tamil Sangam" and mailed to

Two Winners First and Second will be announced in each category "Elementary School Category", "Middle School Category" and "High School Category".

Only the names of the top two winners will be announced at the end of the contest, without their actual ranks.

To be eligible for their respective winning places, the top two winners for each category will perform again at the Tamil Sangam Cultural Event 2009 following the contest at the same place.

The quality of the performance on the Tamil Sangam Cultural event 2009 will not affect the ranking that will have already been decided after the contest.

Children of Contest Judges and their immediate families are not eligible to participate.

Each group may choose a movie song in any Indian language.

The content of the song must be appropriate for an audience that consists of a large number of children and family members.

Team coordinator is required to email or send a hard copy of the song along with the registration form prior to the contest. A contest review committee will assess the suitability of the song and will inform the contestant in advance if it is not suitable to the audience and the place of the contest. The name and content of the song will be held confidential until the contest.

Each contestant will have maximum 5 minutes to perform. Group must use a pre-recorded music. The accompanying music should only be an Indian movie song.

By accepting a prize, the winners of the contest agree to give the South Florida Indian Idol Organizers permission to reproduce their recorded dance, likeliness and any biographical information. The organizers may utilize said information for promotional announcements, advertisements, and other promotional tools for two (2) years.
